This is a gold and bronze coin set released jointly by the Perth Mint and the Royal Austalian Mint.

It contains one $100 gold coin weighing 10.021 gms (99.99% pure gold) and ten $5 Al Zn bronze coins weighing 20 gms each.

On one side the gold coin has the queens face and on the other someone holding a weath/flowers with "achievement" and "Sydney 2000" and the olympic symbol (the 5 interlocked rings), also depicting various sports along the outer edge.
The mintage of the gold coin was 30,000, but this item with the booklet and gold and 10 bronze coins was LIMITED EDITION (only 2000 made)
This one is number 0089 of 2000.

The ten bronze coins have the queen's head on one side and then swimming, archery, running, cycling, volleyball, esquestrian, judo/karate, shooting, sailing and hocky.

This set comes with the original booklet which has sports star profiles inside....some 30-40 pages (not numbered) of glossy print and photos. At the back is the official record of the games, who won what and also the country places. Australia came 4th.

The coin set is also housed in this presentation booklet, inside protective cases (proof condition) and the whole booklet slips into a hard cover protective jacket. Beside a couple of small dings on the outside protective jacket, the booklet itself is in mint/proof condition.

The coins are PROOF condition.

I FOUND THE FOLLOWING INFO ON THIS COIN SET. THE BRONZE COINS ARE FOR THE SPORTS THAT AUSTRALIA ACTUALLY WON GOLD MEDALS IN. HERE IS A SNIPPET OF WHAT I FOUND. IT WAS VALUED AT $1600 IN 2004 (7 YEARS AGO), AND SINCE THEN THE GOLD PRICE HAS MORE THAN DOUBLED.

Currently gold is at $1500 an oz, with predictions it will go to $3000 and maybe up to $6000 an oz soon, because the USA economy is not recovering.

This collection is also a special collectors edition with only 2000 made for the Sydney 2000 Olympics.

Sydney 2000 Olympic Coin Program - Celebration Collection Album, contains $100 Gold Coin
Achievement - Athlete; $5 Bronze Coins (10 - the ten sports in which Australia won gold medals); signatures (6)
including Andrew Gaze, Susie O'Neill & Herb Elliott. Limited edition /2000. [Retail $1595]....this is an old retail price as well.

Here are the images of the links I found on the web. The auction was in 2004.
