RARE antique sterling silver
candle/lamp/table/cigar lighter Asprey1908 220 gms
Item number: STE07011252
Price: $495
This is a lovely antique
sterling silver lamp/table lighter, with is hallmarked top and bottom
to Charles Asprey and George Asprey, London 1908. Underneath is
is also stamped "Asprey london" and a number:"74594", which I presume
is a patent number. It is also stamped "Rd No 9439750". There is a wick
inside and some soaking material. There are 3 dipstick like objects. I believe this is a table top cigar
lighter. Long wick would go into central hole. Each of the 3 smaller
tapers would carry a smaller tuft like wick. The gentleman would remove
a taper (flame tipped handles) touching the wick to the central lit
flame and apply it to his cigar. Taper would then be replaced in it's
place -extinguishing it.
It is beautifully made with 3 handles and a triangular-form base It
weighs 220 gms, or over 7 ounces. The item stands about 12.5 cms (or 5
inches) tall. The item is in excellent condition: no dents or damage.
See photos. I have not cleaned
or polished the item.

This is a lovely vintage
sterling silver figural lidded salt with a duck, marked "Sterling
Silver, 925, Camusso". It is about 3 cms high (or 1 1/4 inches), and has a diameter
of 4 cms (just over 1 1/2 inches), weight 16.8 gms

It

in
excellent unused condition. Must have been given to someone as
a present that was never used.
Here's what I found out about Camusso on the Internet:
In 1933, Mr. Carlo Mario
Camusso established in Lima, Peru a small silversmith workshop, thus
laying the corner-stone of what along time would turn to be a well
establishe company with international renown. Later, in 1946, the
one person workshop became a stock company. Since then the
company always kept a unique spirit of unity, enthusiams and permanent
dedication among its executive members, employees and workers. Their
collaboration made out of the founder's dream a today's
reality. On the other hand, three
consecutive
generations
of
the Camusso Family who
took
charge of the
management always kept one common denominator as key for
success: "Transform Silver
in Art". This is how Camusso has become synonym of great and
reliable warranty of the Sterling mark stamped on each of 3500 silver
products. Carlo Mario Camusso S.A.
manufactures more than 3500 products whcih vary from flatware, tea
sets, platters, ornaments for commemorations and anniversaries - events
which may deserve to be heightened with Sterling Silver. In this online
catalog, you will find some of the signature articles of the
aforementioned manufacturing lines.

antique sterling silver sugar cube tongs
London 1889 32.3 gms
Item number: STE07011259
Price: $120
This is a lovely antique
sterling silver pair of sugar tongs. There are fully hallmarked but I
can't make out the marks, other than the "o" in a shield which I am
quite sure is for London 1889. I have taken a few photos of the
hallmark. It is the best I can do without cleaning the item. The sugar
tongs weigh about 32.3 gms and they are about 5 3/4 inches long (or
14.5 cms). The tongs are in excellent condition. I have not cleaned or
polished the item.

antique chinese silver figural toothpick
holder or lidded container, enamel, hallmarked, 210 gms ~ 7 oz
Item number: STE04061224
Price: $195
This is a lovely antique chinese silver (which I think
is less than sterling 92.5% silver judging by its colour) container. I
think it is a lidded
toothpick holder or maybe a match or cigarette holder, or just a
container. It has a devil-like lion looking figure on the top, and in
engraved on all sides with some very delicate enamel work going on. It
is hallmarked on bottom (see photos). It is in excellent condtion. I
have given it a bit of a clean, bt it is card to get into the crevices
of the figure and into the corners. It could do with another good
clean. As you
can see in the photos, the top slides up and off. the base is almost
the same height (minus devil) as the top. I know much about this
stuff, so please look at photos. It is about 5 inches tall and about 2
x 2 inches at base. It weighs about 210 gms, which is about 7
troy ounces. A lovely piece.
Please
look at the
photos (which form part of the description) and ask any questions if
you have any concerns.
