Piquot Ware Teapot and Coffee Pot/Hot-water Jug
Item number: 07012354
Price: $155 75 each, slashed as the market for stuff has collapsed.
Teapot and a coffee/hot water jug made by Picquot Ware, who still makes
these in the same design, since the 1950s I believe. I do not know how
old these are...they seem to be the same as the latest for sale, so
they may well be new-ish. They are in very good condition.
I have copied some information from their website
(http://www.picquot.co.uk/products.htm) given below. I believe they use
a magnesium aluminium alloy.....isn't that what they use in aircraft
metal?
Exclusive, modern design made from Magnailium, an alloy
especially developed for Picquot Tableware which:
is polished, not plated
is cast in one piece, to ensure no leaks occur around
the spout
is especially designed spouts for smooth non-drip
pouring
is machined and has milled lid hinges for perfect fit
and can be rejuvenated after many years use
The designs
have heat resisted handles made of sycamore wood
and trays have heat resistant wareite centres.
They also have a price list which I have copied below
from their site http://www.picquot.co.uk/pricelst.htm
TB Teapot £139.95, approx. $300 AUS in 2006, much more
now
JB Coffee/Water Jug £137.50, approx. $300 AUS
in 2006, much more now
This price is very reasonable given that they are in
very good, almost as new, condition, and the price they sell for. I
must say on looking at them closely I am impressed by their design and
(solid) construction. I particularly like the way you can lift the lid
with your thumb while holding the handle, their light weight, their
solid construction. I also like the fact that you don't have to polish them like
silver, etc. by the way, the metal walls are quite thick too....seems a
good quality product all round.
These pots are in very good condition....just need a bit
of a clean inside....sorry, did not remove my finger marks for the
photo.
THE TEAPOT HAS SOLD. THE COFFEE POT IS STILL AVAILABLE.
One teapot did sell for $150 but I have another, plus another coffee pot, plus a tray and a sugar bowl now. You can also use the tall pots for tea as well. $75 per pot. $75 for the tray and sugar bowl. Here is a new photo.
