antique Vict. Art Nouveau ink-well desk stand silver

Item number: OFF21041537

Price: $295

This is an antique silver plated Victorian inkwell set, c1880-1890. As you can see, some of the silver plate, like on the lid has been worn away with age and polishing. I think it looks great though...nice aged look about it, with copper showing on decorative bits. It is clearly Art Nouveau in its styling. I would say it is in very good condition for age. I am not sure it it originally had glass inkwells or not...maybe glass ones??

Bakelite Inkwell ink bottle pens desk set well office

Item number: OFF08052155

Price: $330

This is a stunning bakelite inkwell, with a bakelite and glass inkwell (middle), two stoneware ink bottles and two pens.

The bakelite tray is marked Duperite, Made in Australia.

The pens are marked Perry & Co., Best Accomodation, London. (sounds like the owner acquired the pens while staying in a hotel in London)

The nips are marked 2766 The Roman Pen, Hinks Wells & Co. (I can't get over the name (h)inks wells & co)

The bakelite tray is in excellent condition. The two stoneware bottles have a couple of chips on the bottom.....one a bit chipped on top.

An excellent original and COMPLETE inkwell set....found just like this originally in a home

Australian colonial desk stand

Item number: OFF10050354

Price: $225

An early ebonised pine or cedar desk stand. From its design and constrcution I would think it datea to the 1890s, or ealier and may be regarded as an Australian Colonial inwell stand. It is missing its original inkwells which would just have been square glass containers but you may come across two that fit. If I find them first the price of this will sore. The price quoted above is "as is". The desk stand is approx. 27 cms c 18.5 cms. The wood and polish are in good original condition. The ornate cary handle seems to be made of brass. This is a surprisingly heavier artical than expected because the wooden bottom is about 3 cms thick.
