lovely watercolour by listed Australian (and West Australian for that
matter) artist Jennifer Hopewell...the painting is of Ninghan Hill (or
Mount Singleton) as viewed from Ninghan Station.
Ninghan
Station
is a working sheep station situated approximately 360
kilometres from Perth on the Great Northern Highway. Ninghan Station
covers an area of 206,787 hectares.
The
homestead
is set in an oasis of green lawns and shady trees nestled at
the base of Mount Singleton. Ninghan Station has abundant bird life
(100 species identified) and animals such as kangaroos, emus, goats and
goannas. There are many granite outcrops scattered throughout the
property which make for great exploring. During spring the rocks are
host to many varieties of wild orchids. From mid July to the end of
September the property transforms into a half a million acres of
wildflowers of various colors.
The
size

much out about this artist. The frame size is 49 cms x 40 cms...artwork
size is 33 cms x 22 cms.

lovely classical oil painting of a windmill and river scene. The
painting is done on canvas glued in board. It is signed C.L. Noordyk
'76 (on the back it has Covie? Noordyk NES "MILL" ins, value $75.00,
probably back in 1976). The scene looks Dutch to me and she may be
related to the listed Dutch artist Willem Noordyk (1887-1970). The
frame size is 56 cms x 47 cms. The reflections in the water are
beautifully done. It has a beautiful gilded wooden frame.
