large watercolour by Martin Cropper 1989

Item number: ART04112348

Price: $4500

This is a very large watercolour by West Australian artist Martin Cropper of a river scene with trees and rope hanging from a tree. The size of the painting is 120 cms x 89 cms (frame) and 93 cms x 60 cms (artwork). Martin Cropper's artwork is for sale at the Boyanup Gallery, and his painting typically sell for around $3000. I believe this painting should be worth somewhat more as it is one of Martin cropper's first paintings, but I'm not greedy. This painting was sold back in 1989 in Martin Cropper's third solo show. This is an extraordinay watercolour. Martin Cropper is especially known for his magnificant reflections in water. You can view some of Martin Cropper's current sales at the Botanup Gallery at this link

Watercolour or Carisbrook Castle (sailing ship), c 1870

Item number: ART04112359

Price: $650

This is a lovely little watercolour of the ship Carisbrook Castle, which brought passengers to Australia and New Zealand in the 1870s. Here is a link with some more history about this sailing ship.I believe that this painting is c1870. I acquired this painting from a deceased estate in Perth who's ancestors may have travelled on this very ship. The size of painting is 29.5 cms x 24 cms (frame) and  17.5 cms x 11.5 cms (artwork). Although the painting is rather small the detail is quite extraordinary. The painting still has its original frame and backing. The painting is not signed by the artist but a bit of research may well reveal who the maritime artist was.

original watercolour of stream ship by J. Bruce

Item number: ART05110028

Price: $285

This is a lovely watercolout painting of a stream powered sailing ship, signed J. Bruce, who appears to be a listed artist fetching a few hundred dollars for his paintings. The size of the painting is about 42 cms x 29 cms. The painting has some minor damage (sky) but it generally in good condition. It needs to be reglazed....there is no glass. the painting would probably be significantly enhanced with a better frame as well.
