watercolour,
farmhouse scene, signed H. Scott
Item
number:

Price:

This
is
a lovely watercolour of a farmhouse by listed English artist H.
Scott (signed). I believe it to be Henry Scott, yet to authenticate.
There is a little foxing on the cardboard frame but the picture itself
looks in good order. The frame size of the painting is about 41 cms x
44 cms. The size of the watercolour is about 31.5 cms x 26.5 cms. On
the back it has the writing (in pencil) "Old Home" followed by some
other writing which I cannot make out, then "H. Scott" and the price 5
pounds 5 shillings. I believe the painting is circa 1920s, so this
would have been a sizable amount back then. If I can confirm taht teh
artist is Henry Scott this painting could have a value of tens of
thousands of dollars. At the moment the painting is not for sale.

ono
This
is
a lovely watercolour of Walebing cottage located on Walebing
Homestead which is about 20 kms east of the wheatbelt town of Moora.
The buildings on this homestead are heritage listed and have been in
the Lefroy family since the 1860s. The painting is signed by Margaret
Shenton, who appears to have won the Tammin (184 kms east of Perth) Art
Award in 2006. The Tammin Shire seems to have paid $350 for that
artwork in 2006. Another painting sold at Gregson Auctions about 25
years ago fro $250. The painting is superbly executed and is framed but
needs to be reglazed. The size of the actual painting is about 57 cms x
49 cms.
