This is a superb large very original (signed) framed oil painting on canvas. The painting appears to be signed by M. or W. Adamson 1905. It comes with its original wood frame, which seems to be made of oregon or some sort of old pine. It shows a lot of character with some aging effects on the frame and the painting (crazing) but generally still in excellent condition, and with much appeal.

The painting is very LARGE, about 120 cm x 100 cms, that is, 4' x 3'4". The painting has been repaired in a couple of places and there are one or two other spots which may need repair.

A local art collector told me this artist is noted to have sold a painting around the turn of the century for 100 pounds (that is a huge sum) and the painting sold was tiny compared to this one.

Framed and glazed 18th century hand coloured engraving..."A view of the Savoy from the River Thames". This artwork is approximately 270 years old, although the frame and glass are new. It was done in 1736 and published in 1750. The detail in this engraving is quite amazing and it is equally amazing it has lasted for so well and is in such good condition. The artwork measures 51 cms x 66 cms to the ouside of the frame. It is unusullay large, given that most old ectchings are quite small. It has been beauifully hand coloured as well.

The Market Place, Petersfield, Hampshire, drawn by T.H. Shepherd delt, engraved by H. Bond Sc. Also states: "Drawn and Engraved for DUGDALES ENGLAND & WALES Delineated. There is no date on this engraving but it came with the other two and looks to be a similar age. In good condition for age (186 years old)...a few stains here and there...photo makes it look much worse than it is ...some of the shadows in the engraving even look like stains....they are not.
